Memang sih dramanya nggak punya bujet gede. Adegan perang jadi minim dan CGI-nya lumayan tapi nggak wow. Beberapa villain—kayak pamannya Song Zu Er (Qiao Man / "Xiao Qiao") , penasehat jahat, dan ayah SY—kurang greget. Dan si sepupu Song Zu Er (Qiao Man / "Xiao Qiao") yang egois itu... duh, nyebelin banget. Song Zu Er (Qiao Man / "Xiao Qiao") udah rela gantiin dia buat nikah demi perdamaian, eh dia malah nolak ngirim bantuan pas dibutuhin. Akhir ceritanya sih pantas, meski kasihan juga sama suami dan anaknya. Antagonisnya terasa receh di akhir, dan episode terakhir agak terburu-buru. Mungkin bagian kehidupan rumah tangga bisa dikurangin dikit buat kasih ruang ke konflik yang lebih meledak.

Cerita di drama ini ditulis dengan cerdas. Bahkan momen sehari-harinya bisa lucu banget—nggak jarang aku ngakak. Chemistry mereka? Gila sih. Cuma ada dua adegan yang bener-bener intens, tapi... ya ampun, panas banget meski nggak ada yang buka-bukaan. Liu Yu Ning (Wei Shao / Zhong Lin) dan Song Zu Er (Qiao Man / "Xiao Qiao") totalitas banget. Liu Yu Ning (Wei Shao / Zhong Lin) juga kocak di interview—pernah bilang adegan buka bajunya bikin dia keliatan kayak "iga bakar dengan muka ditempel," padahal abs-nya solid! Waktu ditanya soal adegan ciuman, dia bilang nggak ada, tapi Song Zu Er (Qiao Man / "Xiao Qiao") langsung bongkar: "Ada dua! Siap-siap aja!" Dan bener aja—kita semua nggak siap. Bahkan di salah satu adegan, Liu Yu Ning (Wei Shao / Zhong Lin) kasih Song Zu Er (Qiao Man / "Xiao Qiao") yang ngambil alih, dan itu... ya, panas banget.

Karakter pendukung juga nggak kalah keren. Hubungan Liu Yu Ning (Wei Shao / Zhong Lin) sama para jenderalnya tuh bikin haru—kaya saudara beneran. Salah satu dari mereka meninggal, dan itu bener-bener nyesek. Apalagi dia hampir tunangan sama maid chubby yang super gemesin. Setelah dia meninggal, para jenderal rawat si maid kayak keluarga sendiri.

Lalu ada si sepupu Liu Duan Duan(Wei Yan / Shi Yuan) yang suka sama Song Zu Er (Qiao Man / "Xiao Qiao") . Dia agak nyebelin, tapi ternyata orangnya cuma kesepian dan akhirnya nemuin tempat di dunia. Perkembangannya mantep banget, dan aktingnya keren. Banyak juga karakter lain yang berkesan: BZ, para pelayan, adiknya Song Zu Er (Qiao Man / "Xiao Qiao") (anak muda berpotensi besar), sampai ibunya Liu Yu Ning (Wei Shao / Zhong Lin) yang akhirnya berubah juga.

Sebenernya aku bisa bahas drama ini selamanya, tapi biarin penonton baru nikmatin sendiri deh. Ada banyak simbolisme keren di sini—kayak pas Song Zu Er (Qiao Man / "Xiao Qiao") dan salah satu jenderal ngeledakin bendungan demi bantuin Liu Yu Ning (Wei Shao / Zhong Lin) saat diserang. Rasanya kayak nonton *Lord of the Rings* versi domestik. Apalagi jenderal itu dulunya benci Song Zu Er (Qiao Man / "Xiao Qiao") karena keluarganya dibunuh, tapi akhirnya jadi pelindung setia. Karakter development-nya dalem banget.

Ada juga momen epik di akhir, pas Liu Yu Ning (Wei Shao / Zhong Lin) harus bikin keputusan sulit kayak yang kakek Song Zu Er (Qiao Man / "Xiao Qiao") dulu ambil—antara nyelamatin rumah atau nurutin rencana demi rakyat. Endingnya bikin semua konflik lama terasa selesai dengan elegan. Hal kecil kayak mereka tidur terpisah setahun karena menghormati duka juga bikin hubungan mereka terasa tulus.

Yang bikin tambah keren—mereka komunikatif! Nggak kayak drama lain yang konfliknya ditahan-tahan berepisode-episode. Di sini, kalau ada salah paham, langsung diomongin. Liu Yu Ning (Wei Shao / Zhong Lin) sih kadang ngegas dan bikin Song Zu Er (Qiao Man / "Xiao Qiao") ngambek, tapi usahanya minta maaf malah jadi lucu dan manis, apalagi pas dia cemburu buta.

Tapi, walau ada kekurangan kecil, drama ini tetap layak banget ditonton. Bener-bener mendekati sempurna. Liu Yu Ning (Wei Shao / Zhong Lin) lagi-lagi total banget, dan buat aku, dia layak dijuluki *Mr. Sexy*. Drama ini bakal selalu punya tempat spesial di list rewatch-ku.
